About Shira Golan
Shira Golan's journey into the world of art and music began early in life, and at the age of 6 years old, she was already singing, dancing acting on stage.
Growing up in a diverse, secular household with a Polish mother and Libyan father, Shira was immersed in the harmonious blend of Yiddish, Hebrew and Arabic languages. Inspired by her paternal grandmother's home in Jaffa where she saw concerts of the legendary Umm Kulthum, and her parents' love for Israeli folk music, Shira's music is a fusion of cultural influences. This upbringing ignited her passion to harmonize these rich cultures and mend the rifts she felt within her very soul.
For Shira, singing wasn't just a form of expression, it was a channel to her soul and spirituality.
Shira was also inspired by the renowned singer Ofra Haza and has a performance tribute to her.
Dedicated to deepening her understanding of Arab culture, Shira dedicated four years to studying classical Arabic music at the Eastern Music School "Maqamat" in Safed, Israel and had the privilege of being mentored by renowned artists like Amal Murkus, Dr. Wassim Odeh, ziv yehezkel, to name just a few.
Shira's commitment to unity extends beyond her music. Collaborating with Arab singers, artists, and spiritual leaders, spreading messages of unity and performing at festivals across Israel and Europe. She's also actively participated in events organized by "WOMEN WAGE PEACE" and other initiatives dedicated to promoting unity and peace.
Shira's repertoire spans two original albums, featuring psalms and sacred music in both languages. As a soulful singer and songwriter, Shira's talents transcend boundaries as she effortlessly weaves her melodious tapestry in both Hebrew and Arabic.
